Brandon Nolan, Youth Pastor
Brandon was born in Somerset Kentucky which is where all his family lives. He graduated high school from PBL High in Paxton, IL in 1999. He then moved back to Kentucky where he came to know the Lord in April of 2002. He then moved to Plant City, Florida, and joined his first church. He started to learn more and more about God and soon loved to be at church at every possible chance. He worked at the YMCA and earned his personal training certification and worked with kid’s camp and taught swim lessons. His first Christian service was teaching a High School Sunday school class, and then moved on to teach a Wednesday night youth group. He attended seminary at Emmaus Baptist College in Brandon, Florida, for two years and then transferred to the University of South Florida where he received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He met Sarah at Hillsborough Community College in Plant City. Sarah has been in church her whole life and was saved at age six. Sarah is also a USF alumni where she received her bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school for four years, and is now a stay at home mom. Sarah also sells Premier Jewelry which is a Christian jewelry company. Brandon and Sarah got married on June 14th, 2008. They had their first child, Chloe Elizabeth on May 6th of 2010.
In November of 2008 Brandon came to Hillcrest Baptist Church in view of a call for the Youth Pastor position. He already knew a little bit about Hillcrest from a mission trip he attended that the church hosted. He knew of the character of the church and the spirit of her people. He knew that Hillcrest was an amazing church and quickly became excited about the possibilities that God could have for his family in Acworth, Georgia. In the summer of 2009 they moved to Acworth and started working immediately with the youth. They feel truly blessed and totally excited about the future for the youth at Hillcrest. They know that God has big plans and it will be amazing to see how He will use them!
